Can I, on behalf of all of the organising team of the EMCOS Stages 2008, thank all of the competitors, service crew, marshals, Care Rescue, the MSA Steward and Rugby Recovery for a great day's motorsport.
I think we can all agree that Care Rescue did a fantastic job stabilising the Navigator of car 10, Matthew Lloyd following the accident on stage 7. Also in need of a mention is Simon Marks, our radio controller for the event, who handled the incident with great skill and tact. The red flag system worked really well, and the crews on the stage at the time should be very proud to have followed the instructions to the letter which enabled the emergency teams to be deployed in 1 minute and at the scene within 3. We all very pleased to hear that Matthew is recovering.
On a lighter note, we are very please with the stages, and have received some very positive comments regarding the stage layout and the link road.
This is very much a "work in progress" and expect to see further improvements to the venue before the EMCOS Stages 2009.
